Back to where it all started
I started a new project today. It is a fairly straightforward website redesign for a big, messy corporate site. I’m so looking forward to it.
Surprisingly, I haven’t done one of these for a few years. I’ve done loads of intranets, some smallish websites and some applications (my most recent project was an innovative internal RIA that I’m very proud of). Consulting for a couple of years meant that I didn’t really get into the detail of a complex site, including all the internal communications and politics.
Because it has been a while, and I have gained a lot more experience, this project will be particuarly interesting. I’m mentoring as I go, so I’m going to think a lot more about how I work and why I do things in a particular way. I now have enough experience with a range to really analyse how I get from A to B. I’ve always challenged the standard way of doing things, and I hope to have some good insights over the next few months…
