<description>Donna, I really liked this and wished I could have heard the presentation. It is the voice of sanity and reason in the must adopt Rich Interface push these days.

Personally I am seeing some of my favorite sites become less usable because of too much JavaScript and AJAX. The same mistakes from the late 90s are being repeated again today. The same mistakes made with Flash are being repeated in DOM Script interfaces. Much of this is developers not knowing what they are doing and the other is product managers demanding to have the richest site around. There needs to be eduction for both of these camps and your presentation is a good place to start.

<description>Yes, there are both perspectives on what web 2.0 is - one is the technology perspective and one is the collaborative perspective. I really don't care for definitions as long as I can design great stuff!

		<description>Hi Donna,

Thanks for your presentation this evening; I thought I was going to be the first to blog about it, but you beat me by a whole hour :(

Just about this Web 2.0 business which gets mentioned alot, but everyone seems to be avoiding (for good reasons!). Personally, I don't really see it as advances in technology, or even the basis of new web properties such as flickr or del.icio.us. I'm seeing it more as the people behind it all and the change in attitude to everything we do online. Quickly fading are the days of companies desperately trying to retain their IP and maximise their profits, giving way to a community environment where everyone is happy to share their knowledge and product. It's almost like we're reverting to a barter system! And for the better, so it seems.
